1. Operational Management and Leadership:

  • Provide general oversight of all Social Marketing activities, including managing the day-to-day operations to assure the program functions smoothly and efficiently.
  • Build and develop business strategies to achieve financial viability and growth.
  • Manage business performance and business results including resource allocation, cost control, personnel and crisis management.
  • Ensure the successful sale of sexual and reproductive health products. Continuously identify and pursue new business opportunities and improve business performance.
  • Direct marketing activities, sales and distribution of products.
  • Initiate, develop, and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with government partners, policymakers, regulatory bodies, compliance professionals, donors, NGOs and private businesses.
  • Monitor and report on monthly business activities.
  • Facilitate the integration of the Social Marketing program into the fabric of the community by using effective marketing and communications activities.
  • Acts as an advocate for issues relevant to the Social Marketing program, its products, members, and the community.
  • Serve as the chief spokesperson for the Social Marketing program.
  • Assure a work environment that recruits, retains and supports quality staff and volunteers. Develop and refine processes for the selection, development, motivation, and evaluation of staff.
  • Specify accountability for management personnel and regularly evaluates performance.
  • Ensure that anti-fraud and bribery (AFB) training is conducted with all SM staff and MSV’s zero tolerance policy, child protection, Code of Conduct, Due Diligence and other MSI policies are strictly enforced.

2. Legal and Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure the filling of all required legal and regulatory documents and monitor compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Work with the Medical Development Team to establish and maintain an effective compliance program for the Social Marketing program.
  • Assure program quality and organizational stability through the development and implementation of standards and controls, systems, procedures, and regular evaluation.

3. Business Planning and Strategy:

  • Establish short and long-term goals that align with the mission and overall strategic plan of MSV
  • Monitor and evaluate the sales and sustainability of the product range, including developing strategies and plans for underperforming products and potential new products and business opportunities.
  • Regularly identify and report on market trends and activities to inform strategic direction and business plans, particularly identifying ideas that will have a positive return on investment of time and money.

4. Financial Administration :

  • Identify products that are produced in a cost-effective manner while maintaining quality as outlined by MSV/MSI procurement guidelines.
  • Oversee the fiscal activities of the Social Marketing program including budgeting, reporting and audit.
  • Work with the Finance team and Commercial Senior Director to ensure financing to support short and long-term goals.

5. Sales Team Management:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the sales team to drive increased sales, customer growth and increased income for the Social Marketing program
  • Identify areas of improvement for the sales team and provide hands-on and practical training, coaching and mentoring to build the capacity of the training team.
  • Leadership and Capacity Building
  • Play a proactive and strategic role as part of the Senior Management Team to raise issues that affect SM channel.
  • Provide leadership and support in the management of direct reports, ensuring clear guidance and expectations and provision of support for capacity development where required.
  • Ensure departmental structure is fit for purpose and that all roles and responsibilities are relevant to the needs and demands of SM channel.
  • Ensure that performance priorities are clearly communicated to all team members.

1. Qualifications:
  • Masters or equivalent degree in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Medicine, Pharmacy or any other relevant discipline.
2. Experience:
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in a senior management position and/or general management.
  • Experience in marketing, sales and/or distribution of pharmaceutical products.
  • Experience in compliance and governance of pharmaceutical products, ideally in Vietnam.
  • Experience building and managing high quality teams and growing businesses.
  • Experience in budget management with a proven track record of financial management.
  • Experience developing strategies and business plans.
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in a senior management position and/or general management.
  • Experience in marketing, sales and/or distribution of pharmaceutical products.
  • Experience in compliance and governance of pharmaceutical products, ideally in Vietnam.

3. Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build strong working relationships and good cultural awareness. Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Vietnamese in both written and oral formats.
  • Able to build and maintain a good rapport with government departments and officials, donors, NGO partners, private businesses and other stakeholders.
  • Operates collaboratively in cross functional teams and knows how to work with other teams towards a shared vision. Open to ideas and contributions from others.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Strong leadership skills and able to build and manage high-quality teams
  • Able to develop and articulate a clear business vision and plan with proven strategic thinking and planning skills.

  • Must be hands-on and practical, including the ability to provide training, coaching and mentoring.

  • Able to identify and adopt best practices.
  • Able to represent and advocate for Marie Stopes and the Social Marketing program.
