Qa Lead (Core Sdks) - (Canada Product Company)

Supervising QA engineers, by providing day-to-day direction and oversight, providing regular updates to the Product Manager on team performance

Analyzing business requirements and technical design documentation, providing feedback and sign-off

Together with QA engineers, estimating effort and distributing workload inside the QA team

Creating and maintaining test plans, test suites, test cases and checklists and assigning tasks to team members

Performing manual testing of the products according to business requirements

Recording defects found and providing sufficient information for the resolution of those defects; providing updates on a regular basis

Ensuring QA Engineers within team accurately report hours spent on tasks in Jira, managing leaves and hours of work

Leading all recruitment for the Core SDKs QA team, including working with HR to develop job descriptions and job postings, screening resumes and shortlisting candidates with HR for interview, and leading the interview process and communication with HR and candidates

Leading annual review process for QA team with support from HR

Liaising with development and product teams to understand product, business processes, needs, and KPIs

Participating in team meetings and quality assurance walk-throughs according to the GeoComply PDLC guidance

Identifying opportunities for improvements and helping others to identify opportunity for improvements by providing clear and constructive feedback

Maintaining proficient knowledge and remaining up-to-date with trends associated with software testing and quality assurance

Developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of the company’s products, processes, and technologies

Maintaining and improving the automation test suites used for testing the company’s products 

Advanced understanding of the principles of manual testing

Strong technical skills, good testing experience with Android, iOS, and web applications.

Ability to analyze and interpret complex documents (software requirements and design specifications, standards, and regulations)

Team player with strong leadership skills, and proven ability to manage more junior QA engineers

Ability to motivate others and promote positive work environment and working relationships

Proven ability to coach / mentor is an asset

Highly analytical and detail-oriented

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and under tight timelines

Good English communication skills

Good QA automation skills

Experience with bug tracking systems

Strong knowledge of theory and best practices in software testing is an asset

Understanding object-oriented programming (OOP) is an asset

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role

Post-secondary education or training in a relevant field
