As a BI Analyst – Finance & Accounting, you will join SmartOSC’s Data Warehouse and financial management reporting project, translating finance and accounting reporting needs into metric definitions, data requirements and dashboards for leadership. You will ensure that reported figures are consistent, explainable and reconcilable with Finance and Accounting reports.

You will own business data analysis and BI reporting, working closely with Data Engineers on warehouse integration and data processing, while Finance and Accounting confirm policies, business definitions and the figures used for acceptance.

Key Deliverables & Responsibilities

Requirements & Metric Definition:
- Work with Finance, Accounting and business teams to gather, analyse and standardise reporting requirements, clarifying the management questions and intended users.
- Define metrics, formulas and calculation rules for revenue, costs, profit, margins, budgets, receivables and cash collections, and obtain confirmation from the relevant business owners.
Data Analysis & Modelling:
- Analyse accounting, billing, budgeting and related source data; document source-to-metric mappings, missing data and business rules requiring clarification.
- Contribute to fact and dimension modelling; define data grain and analysis dimensions across periods, legal entities, divisions, projects, customers and markets.
- Write SQL to analyse, calculate and validate data; identify duplication, period or scope mismatches and errors introduced when joining multiple tables.
Dashboard & Reporting:
- Build and improve dashboards, KPI cards, charts and analytical tables using BI tools, including filters, period comparisons and drill-down to supporting details.
Reconciliation & Validation:
- Reconcile results with confirmed Finance and Accounting reports; investigate differences, define test scenarios and support user acceptance testing.
Documentation & Change Management:
- Maintain KPI definitions, data dictionaries, mappings, report specifications and user guidance; coordinate reporting updates when business requirements change.
Expected Deliverables:
- KPI definitions and calculation rules confirmed by Finance or Accounting, source data mappings and a documented list of data gaps.
- Usable financial cards and dashboards with traceable and reconcilable figures, supported by test evidence, explanations of differences and user guidance.
- Card specifications covering purpose, formula, reporting period, data grain, dimensions, filters, comparisons, data sources, missing-data handling and acceptance criteria, with alert thresholds where confirmed by the business.

Yêu cầu ứng viên

At least 2 years of relevant experience in BI, data analysis, Finance Systems or management reporting, with direct involvement in financial reporting projects.
Solid understanding of profit and loss reporting, recognised revenue, direct costs, operating expenses, cost allocation, accounts receivable and accounting periods.
Able to distinguish recognised revenue, invoiced amounts and cash collected; understand how recognition timing, tax treatment, exchange rates and reporting scope affect reported figures.
Strong SQL skills for joining, aggregating and validating data, including the ability to prevent double counting and work at the correct data grain.
Practical knowledge of Data Warehousing, fact and dimension models, transactional data, snapshots and historical changes.
Hands-on experience building dashboards in Power BI, Tableau or an equivalent BI tool; able to explain formulas, data sources and validation methods.
Ability to write clear specifications, work directly with Finance and Accounting, present findings and explain reporting differences to users.

Nice to Have

Experience in Data Warehouse, ERP or financial management reporting projects; a background in management accounting, audit or financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
Experience with Actual vs Budget vs Forecast reporting, variance analysis, receivables ageing, days sales outstanding (DSO) and profitability by project or division.
Experience in IT services, project-based businesses or environments with multiple legal entities and currencies.
