Job Description
The School Partnerships Academic Manager supports the implementation and development of FSEL’s blended learning and teacher professional development programs for partner schools, educational institutions, and DOETs. The role acts as a key link between FSEL’s Academic Department and partners, developing suitable learning pathways, customizing academic and training content, gathering academic and platform requirements, and coordinating with Sales, Operations, and internal teams to ensure effective program delivery. The position also contributes to building and managing the academic content development team.
- Develop customized academic solutions for school and institutional partners by
- reviewing partner schools' curricula, English proficiency requirements, academic schedules, target learning outcomes, and relevant institutional or teacher development needs
- mapping FSEL's existing online learning pathways to partner schools' courses and academic programs
- developing customized blended learning pathways combining FSEL online study with schools' classroom teaching and other learning activities
- adapting course pacing, lesson sequencing, assessment schedules, and learning requirements according to each partner's implementation model
- identifying gaps between FSEL's existing content and partner organization requirements
- proposing appropriate academic solutions to address these gaps
- reviewing and updating partner learning pathways when curricula, requirements, or implementation conditions change
- Develop and manage customized learning and teacher professional development content by
- planning supplementary learning content according to partner organization requirements
- developing or overseeing the development of supplementary English lessons for specific curricula, learner groups, subject areas, majors, or professional fields
- designing or overseeing teacher professional development packages for Departments of Education and Training and other institutional partners, including training objectives, course structure, training content, materials, assessment, and implementation guidance
- developing or overseeing the development of exam preparation and practice materials, including practice tests and supplementary exercises
- creating content specifications, lesson structures, pacing guides, and other academic guidance for Content Developers
- ensuring customized materials align with the target language level, course objectives, and intended learner profile
- configuring or coordinating the configuration of customized content on the FSEL platform
- maintaining appropriate documentation and records for customized school and institutional programs
- Support academic implementation with partner schools and education authorities by
- meeting with academic or subject departments, school leaders, teachers/lecturers, DOET leaders/specialists, and other relevant representatives from partner organizations
- introducing FSEL's course structure, lesson structure, platform functions, learning features, assessment system, and learner pathways
- explaining the intended learning outcomes and proficiency targets of each FSEL course level
- helping school academic teams understand how FSEL online learning can be integrated with their existing classroom programs
- providing academic guidance during the preparation and launch of new partner programs
- supporting the preparation and delivery of teacher professional development programs, including trainer guidance, teacher-facing materials, implementation support, and post-training feedback
- responding to academic questions and implementation concerns raised by partner schools and education authorities
- working with the Sales and Operations teams to ensure information communicated to partners accurately reflects FSEL's academic programs, teacher development solutions, and capabilities
- Gather and coordinate partner requirements by
- meeting with school administrators, teachers, DOET representatives, and academic stakeholders to understand operational and academic requirements
- gathering requests for new platform functions or changes required by partner administrators, teachers, trainers, or learners
- distinguishing between academic/content requirements and platform/product requirements
- documenting partner requests clearly and reporting relevant platform requirements to the Academic Director / Product Owner
- supporting the Academic Director / Product Owner in clarifying the academic purpose and expected user experience of requested features
- communicating approved solutions or implementation plans back to relevant internal teams and partner organizations when required
- collecting feedback following implementation and identifying opportunities for further improvement
- Build and manage a strong academic content production team by
- identifying staffing requirements for school partnership, institutional, and teacher professional development projects
- recruiting, screening, interviewing, and recommending Content Developers and other academic production team members
- developing and delivering induction and training for newly recruited team members
- providing clear task briefs, templates, guidelines, and production requirements
- monitoring content production schedules and ensuring assigned deadlines are met
- reviewing submitted content for academic accuracy, instructional effectiveness, learner suitability, and compliance with FSEL standards
- providing clear revision feedback to Content Developers
- approving completed academic content before implementation or publication
- identifying recurring quality issues and providing additional training or guidance where necessary
- Ensure the quality of school partnership and teacher professional development programs by
- applying FSEL's academic standards and content development procedures consistently across partner projects
- reviewing learning pathways, supplementary lessons, assessments, and other academic materials before implementation
- ensuring customized programs remain consistent with agreed partner requirements and target learning outcomes
- monitoring feedback from schools, education authorities, teachers, trainees/learners, Operations, and other stakeholders
- recommending academic improvements based on implementation feedback and program performance
- escalating significant academic risks or quality concerns to the Academic Director
- Support Sales and Operations by
- providing accurate academic information for proposals, implementation plans, presentations, and partner discussions
- joining meetings with prospective or existing school, institutional, or education authority partners when academic expertise is required
- helping internal teams understand the structure, objectives, requirements, and limitations of FSEL's academic programs
- supporting the preparation of demonstrations, sample learning pathways, sample lessons, teacher training modules, and other academic materials for partners
- assisting Operations with academic issues arising during program implementation
- ensuring commitments made to partner organizations remain consistent with approved FSEL academic programs, teacher development solutions, and available platform capabilities
- Contribute to the continuous development of FSEL by
- identifying common academic and teacher development requirements across school and institutional partners
- recommending improvements to FSEL's standard programs, learning pathways, content, and academic processes
- sharing insights from partner schools and education authorities with the Academic Director and other relevant teams
- staying up to date with relevant developments in blended learning, institutional English programs, teacher professional development, language assessment, ESP, and educational technology
- contributing to internal academic projects and content development when required
- Other reasonable duties as necessary for the success of the company
The above duties may be revised in light of changing circumstances by mutual agreement between the company, the Academic Director, and the School Partnerships Academic Manager.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- bachelor's degree or higher in English Language Teaching, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, English Studies, or another relevant field
- strong English language proficiency
- strong knowledge of English language teaching methodology and curriculum development
- experience developing English language teaching materials, curricula, assessments, or learning programs
- experience teaching English in school, institutional, or adult education settings
- experience reviewing and providing feedback on academic content
- strong understanding of the needs of Vietnamese English language learners
- strong Vietnamese and English communication skills suitable for working directly with partner schools, institutional partners, and education authority representatives
- strong organizational and project management skills
- ability to use common digital learning, office, and content development tools
- experience coordinating projects or managing academic/content team members
Desirable
- master's degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Education, Educational Technology, or a related field
- recognized English language teaching qualification
- previous experience in an academic management or curriculum leadership role
- experience working with partner schools, educational institutions, education authorities, or institutional English language programs
- experience developing blended or online learning programs
- experience designing or delivering teacher training, teacher professional development, or academic workshops
- experience developing English for Specific Purposes (ESP) materials
- experience developing language proficiency or exam preparation materials
- familiarity with CEFR, IELTS, VSTEP, TOEIC, Aptis, or other commonly used English proficiency frameworks and assessments
- experience working with Learning Management Systems or educational technology platforms
Schedule & Working location
- The role follows FSEL’s standard full-time working schedule and is primarily office-based. It also requires regular meetings with partner schools and education authorities, occasional business travel outside Hanoi, and some flexibility to work outside normal office hours when needed for meetings, training, or program implementation.
