About the Role
We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to work closely with our Director of Engineering and help turn Engineering and AI initiatives into execution.
Everfit's Engineering team is working on multiple initiatives at the same time. We need someone who can help the Director keep priorities moving, connect the right people, close communication gaps, and make sure important ideas don't stop at discussion.
You will work closely with Engineering, AI, Product, HR, and other teams to coordinate projects from idea to execution.
This is not a purely project-tracking role. We are looking for someone who is technically fluent, highly organized, proactive, and exceptionally strong at follow-through.
You don't need to be the decision-maker. You do need to understand the context, ask the right questions, challenge when something can be better, and make sure things get done.
What You'll Do
Drive Technical Programs
- Work closely with the Director of Engineering to drive key Engineering and AI initiatives.
- Turn ideas and priorities into clear actions, owners, timelines, and next steps.
- Track multiple initiatives and keep them moving from discussion → execution → completion.
- Follow up with owners, ask for updates, and make sure commitments are delivered.
- Identify blockers, dependencies, and communication gaps and help resolve them.
- Make sure important decisions are communicated and followed through.
Connect Engineering & Leadership
A key part of this role is making sure there is a clear connection between the Director's priorities and the engineers executing them.
You will:
- Understand the context and goals behind Engineering initiatives.
- Make sure engineers have the information and context they need to execute.
- Follow up with engineers on progress, blockers, and next steps.
- Bring important updates, questions, and risks back to the Director.
- Help clarify misunderstandings between leadership and Engineering.
- Make sure important information does not get lost between conversations.
You will not manage engineers or make technical decisions. Your role is to make sure communication, coordination, and execution work effectively.
Support AI & Engineering Initiatives
AI is an important part of Everfit's Engineering strategy.
You will help coordinate initiatives such as:
- AI projects and experiments
- AI adoption across Engineering
- Engineering productivity initiatives
- Technical prototypes and new initiatives
- Cross-team Engineering projects
You don't need to build these solutions yourself, but you should be comfortable enough with technology to understand the work, ask meaningful questions, identify dependencies, and help move projects forward.
Coordinate Across Teams
Work closely with:
- Engineering — engineers, Tech Leads, Engineering Managers, and AI/ML teams
- Product — for initiatives involving product priorities and execution
- HR — for Engineering hiring, onboarding, organizational initiatives, and people-related projects
- Other teams when cross-functional support is needed
Your job is to make sure the right people are involved, responsibilities are clear, and actions are followed through.
Improve How We Execute
We don't want someone who only maintains a project tracker.
When you see something that isn't working, you should help improve it.
You may:
- Improve how technical initiatives are tracked and communicated.
- Create simple processes that improve follow-through.
- Identify recurring coordination or communication problems.
- Improve visibility into project status and risks.
- Suggest better ways to organize and execute initiatives.
- Challenge unclear plans and help turn them into actionable ones.
What We're Looking For
Strong Follow-through
This is one of the most important qualities for this role.
You naturally:
- Follow up without being reminded.
- Close open action items.
- Keep projects moving.
- Notice when something is stuck.
- Push for clarity when ownership or timelines are unclear.
- Take responsibility for making sure things happen.
You think:
What needs to happen next, who needs to do it, and how do I make sure it happens?
Strong Coordination & Communication
- Excellent at coordinating multiple people and teams.
- Clear and structured communicator.
- Comfortable working with engineers and senior leaders.
- Able to communicate technical context to non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable asking difficult questions and following up with people.
- Able to build trust while still pushing for progress.
Technical Fluency
You don't need to be a software engineer, but you should be comfortable working with technical teams.
You should be able to:
- Understand software development concepts and processes.
- Follow technical and AI/ML discussions.
- Understand project dependencies and technical blockers.
- Ask engineers meaningful questions.
- Understand when an issue needs clarification or escalation.
- Translate technical context into clear updates for non-technical stakeholders.
A background in Software Engineering, Computer Science, AI/ML, Data, or Technical Program Management is a strong plus.
Proactive & Comfortable with Ambiguity
Not every initiative will come with a perfect plan.
You should be comfortable taking something like:
"We should explore this."
and helping turn it into:
Goal → People → Plan → Actions → Follow-up → Outcome
You should be able to create structure without waiting for someone else to tell you exactly what to do.
Able to Challenge & Improve
We want someone who can respectfully challenge the way things are being done.
You should feel comfortable saying:
- "I think we're missing something here."
- "Have we aligned with Product on this?"
- "The team may not have enough context to execute this yet."
- "This timeline may create a problem."
- "Could we approach this differently?"
You are not expected to make the final decision, but you should bring good questions, useful context, and practical solutions.
What Success Looks Like
After 3–6 months, you should become a trusted execution partner for the Director of Engineering.
Success means:
- Important initiatives keep moving without the Director having to chase every detail.
- Engineers understand the context, priorities, and next steps behind initiatives.
- Ideas consistently turn into actions and projects.
- Projects move from discussion → execution → completion.
- Cross-functional work with Engineering, Product, and HR runs more smoothly.
- Blockers and communication gaps surfaced early.
- The Director can give you an initiative and trust you to take it forward.
