The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is the company's senior finance executive and a trusted strategic partner to the Board of Directors and executive leadership team.
This role is responsible for building and leading a disciplined finance function that supports sustainable business growth, strengthens financial governance, and enables informed strategic decision-making across the organization.
Operating within a growing SME environment, the CFO is expected to combine strategic financial leadership with a hands-on approach to financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, business performance analysis, management reporting, and organizational governance.
Beyond safeguarding the company's financial health, the CFO will proactively identify opportunities, evaluate business risks, challenge commercial assumptions, and shape financial decisions that enhance profitability, operational performance, and long-term enterprise value.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & Business Strategy

Serve as the principal financial advisor to the Board of Directors and executive leadership team.
Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's business objectives and long-term growth plans.
Lead financial evaluation of strategic initiatives, including expansion, investments, pricing strategies, capital allocation, restructuring, and new business opportunities.
Shape executive decision-making by providing independent financial judgement, commercial insights, and scenario-based analysis.
Build a finance function capable of supporting the organization's increasing scale and complexity.

Financial Planning, Budgeting & Performance Management

Own the company's annual budgeting process and coordinate financial planning across all business functions.
Develop rolling forecasts, long-term financial plans, and financial models to support both operational and strategic decision-making.
Monitor financial performance through variance analysis, identify performance gaps, and recommend corrective actions.
Design and continuously enhance management reporting dashboards covering revenue, gross margin, profitability, operating expenses, working capital, inventory performance, and other key financial indicators.
Establish planning and performance management processes that improve financial visibility, accountability, and business discipline.

Cash Flow Management & Financial Sustainability

Lead the company's cash flow planning, liquidity management, and working capital optimization.
Develop and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts to ensure operational continuity and financial resilience.
Monitor capital deployment, operating expenditure, and resource allocation to maximize financial efficiency.
Identify financial and operational risks proactively and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
Strengthen financial discipline across the organization through effective financial controls and governance practices.

Business Finance & Commercial Partnership

Deliver high-quality financial analysis covering profitability, pricing, revenue quality, cost structures, operational efficiency, customer profitability, and overall business performance.
Translate financial and operational information into practical commercial recommendations for executive leadership.
Evaluate the financial viability of new initiatives, investments, and strategic projects through financial modelling and scenario analysis.
Partner with department leaders to improve business performance and financial accountability.
Present financial insights and recommendations through structured management reporting that supports timely executive and Board-level decision-making.

Financial Governance, Reporting & Compliance

Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of management reporting, statutory financial statements, and regulatory reporting.
Strengthen internal controls, financial policies, governance standards, and reporting quality across the organization.
Partner closely with the accounting function to ensure efficient financial closing, tax compliance, audit readiness, and regulatory compliance.
Represent the company in financial matters involving banks, auditors, investors, government authorities, and external stakeholders.
Continuously improve finance processes, reporting standards, and organizational financial capability.

RequirementsProfessional Experience

Proven experience as a CFO, Finance Director, Head of Finance, or equivalent senior finance leadership role.
Demonstrated success building or transforming finance functions within SMEs, founder-led businesses, or high-growth organizations.
Strong experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, business partnering, management reporting, cash flow management, and financial governance.
Experience establishing finance processes, internal controls, and scalable financial management practices.

Technical Competencies

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect financial insights to strategic business decisions.
Advanced financial modelling, forecasting, and scenario planning capability.
Strong understanding of corporate finance, business performance management, risk management, and financial governance.
Experience with ERP systems, Business Intelligence (BI) platforms, and financial reporting technologies is highly desirable.

Leadership Competencies

Strategic, commercially minded, and highly analytical.
Hands-on, pragmatic, and comfortable operating within lean organizations.
Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management capabilities.
High integrity, sound judgement, and an ownership mindset.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
CPA, ACCA, CMA, CFA, MBA, or equivalent professional qualifications are highly desirable.
