Fiscal 2021, the second year of our medium-term management plan, Chori Innovation Plan 2022 (hereinafter, “the Plan”), was a year full of uncertainty around the world due to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and other events. In light of such circumstances, we achieved our target for net sales for the final year of the Plan a year ahead of schedule, while setting a record-high for ordinary income by a considerable margin and thereby also reaching our target for the final year of the Plan.

In fiscal 2022, which marks the final year of the Plan, the Chori Group will proceed even further with the basic strategies laid out in the Plan and make significant strides toward its new stage of becoming a corporate group that constantly achieves ordinary income of over \10 billion. In April 2022, we began to overhaul our mission-critical system and initiated a Companywide business transformation project to enable more efficient and strategic management and business operations, while establishing a platform for the use of digital technology and data in pursuit of digital transformation (DX), human resource transformation (HRX), and corporate transformation (CX) going forward.

The Chori Group boasts a track record of over 160 years that began when it was founded as a textile manufacturer in the Nishijin District of Kyoto, Japan. Today, we are an integrated and specialized trading company that prides itself on its exceptional capabilities and expertise in the three business domains of fibers, textiles and garments, chemicals, and machinery, having forged a global network consisting of 31 business sites overseas, primarily in China and the ASEAN region.
