POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Business Development Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for building and executing InnoLab Asia's partnership and revenue strategy. You will lead a small business development team, own the commercial pipeline at an organizational level, and drive high-value partnerships with corporates, government bodies, and international collaborators. Beyond individual deal-making, you will shape how InnoLab Asia grows — building scalable sales processes, developing strategic alliances, and mentoring junior team members.
You are expected to operate with a CEO-like mindset on your accounts: own the outcome, lead the relationship, and deliver.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Strategy & Business Growth
- Develop and execute InnoLab Asia's business development strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
- Identify and evaluate new revenue streams, market segments, and strategic partnership categories.
- Set quarterly and annual Business Development targets and lead the team toward consistent achievement.
- Advise leadership on market opportunities, competitive dynamics, and partnership positioning.
2. Senior Partnership Development
- Lead engagement with high-value partners including major corporates, government agencies, international accelerators, and ecosystem platforms.
- Oversee the full partnership lifecycle from identification, outreach, negotiation, and contract close to delivery and renewal.
- Develop enterprise-grade proposals, sponsorship structures, and multi-year partnership frameworks.
- Serve as a trusted, senior point of contact for key accounts and strategic relationships.
3. Team Leadership & Mentorship
- Manage and develop a team of Business Development executives, setting clear goals and providing ongoing coaching.
- Review and give feedback on proposals, outreach, and client communications produced by the team.
- Build a performance-driven team culture with strong pipeline discipline and accountability.
- Support recruitment and onboarding of Business Development talent as the team scales.
4. Revenue & Pipeline Oversight
- Own the company-wide Business Development pipeline, ensuring consistent flow and accurate forecasting.
- Track deal progression, flag risks, and drive resolution of blockers across the team.
- Deliver regular pipeline and revenue reports to COO and CEO with strategic recommendations.
- Identify upsell, renewal, and cross-program opportunities within existing partner accounts.
5. Market Intelligence & Brand Positioning
- Lead competitive research and ecosystem mapping to identify white-space opportunities.
- Represent InnoLab Asia at major industry events, panels, and delegation meetings.
- Collaborate with marketing to build thought leadership, content, and Business Development collateral.
- Build and maintain a robust network of contacts across Vietnam's innovation ecosystem and beyond.
6. Cross-functional Leadership
- Work closely with program, operations, and legal teams to ensure partnership commitments are executable and delivered.
- Collaborate with COO and CEO on pricing, service packaging, and go-to-market decisions.
- Establish Business Development processes, tools, and standards across the team for consistency and scalability.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, International Business, or related fields.
- 3–7 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or commercial roles — with at least 1–2 years in a team lead or management capacity.
- Strong result-oriented mindset: able to follow through, push progress, and ensure outcomes are delivered.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable working with different types of partners.
- Experience in organizing events or community engagement is a strong advantage
- Ability to manage multiple conversations, priorities, and follow-ups in parallel.
- Strong interest in startups, innovation, and international collaboration.
- Fluent in English and Vietnamese (both written and verbal).
